Internship & Academic Contribution

Mizoram FSL is not only confined to Case works but partake in the field of Academy by giving Theoretical and Practical training on modern techniques and fundamental concepts of Forensic Science for students and allow the students attached to this Office to perform internship in the laboratory. Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Mizoram had signed an MoU with National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar on 3^rd April, 2025 to enhance its proficiency in the field of Forensic studies.

In order to cause awareness and knowledge in Forensic science, topics on 'Forensic Science and Laws' was imparted to LLB students and 'The importance of Forensic Science and collection of evidence from victim of violence' was imparted to BSc Nursing students on their attachment and Lab visit. Scientific method of investigation in custodial deaths, encounter deaths, exhumation and examination of dead bodies in suspected unnatural death was also taught to newly recruited Judicial and Executive magistrates on their visit to the lab.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

To allow short term exposure to students of Forensic Science to various divisions in areas of analytical work and functioning of this laboratory, Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Mizoram is introducing Forensic Science Internship Program to engage students pursuing Post-Graduate Degrees or Research Scholars enrolled in recognized College/ Institution in Science/ Information Technology/ Engineering in India as ‘Student Interns’. These Student Interns may be given exposure to various Forensic analysis performed in this laboratory and would be expected to supplement the process of scientific analysis of physical clue materials and administrative procedure followed in the laboratory.

Young academic talent who sought to undergo Internship and engaged in the scientific works of Mizoram Forensic Science Laboratory are suggested to download the Internship Program below; guidelines and procedure for application, eligibility, period of internship and other important notice may be familiarized before sending application for internship. Note: Internship program for Under Graduate Students is discontinued due to lack of manpower and heavy workload.
