Training

In order to inculcate the habit of scientific methods of investigations among the Investigating Officers, Lectures on Forensic Sciences are being given to Police. Practical oriented Training Courses for Police Officers are also given at various districts of Mizoram.

Ongoing Training

Ten(10) BSc Forensics students from SOBAS, Adamus University, Kolkata undergo 1 week training from 7^th May, 2023 to 12^th May, 2023.

Recent Training conducted

Miss Noyingbeni Z Ngullie, MSc 4th Semester, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal had completed her Internship in DNA and Cyber-Forensic divisions during 6^th January to 24^th February, 2023.

Two BSc Forensic Science students from School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Galgotias University, Greater Noida, U.P. namely, Miss Juliana Malsawmdawngzeli Varte and Mr V.L.Rinhlupuia undergo internship from 9^th to 27^th January, 2023.

Training course on 10 digits Fingerprint was conducted on 16^th September, 2022. One ASI and fourteen constables from Aizawl, Kulikawn, Sairang, Sialsuk, Sakawrdai, Darlawn, Lunglei, Siaha, Kolasib, Serchhip, N.Vanlaiphai, Thenzawl, Saitual Police Stations and Zonuam, New Vervek Police Outposts attended this training.

3^rd Batch of Training on Collection & Sampling of Forensic Evidence for ASI to Inspector was conducted on 25^th to 26^th August, 2022. Four Police Officers fromAizawl, Lawngtlai, Khawzawl Police Stations attended this training.

2^nd Batch of Training on Collection & Sampling of Forensic Evidence for ASI to Inspector was conducted on 21^st to 22^nd July, 2022. Nine Police Officers from Siaha, Champhai, Hnahthial, Serchhip, North Vanlaiphai, Lunglei & Kolasib Police Stations attended this training.  

1^st Batch of Training on Collection & Sampling of Forensic Evidence for ASI to Inspector from Kolasib, Lunglei, Mamit, Saitual districts was conducted on 23^rd to 24^th June, 2022. Five Police Officers from Lunglei, Ngopa, Kanhmun & Saitual Police Stations attended this training.

Internship of 2^nd Semester LLB Students of Govt. Mizoram Law College was organised on 6^th to 10^th June, 2022. Lectures on importance and roles of Forensic Science in the delivery of justice was imparted to the students.

In pursuance to a request from SP, Lawngtlai, special training on  Collection of Forensic Evidence was conducted for Lawngtlai DEF on 19^th & 20^th May, 2022 at FSL, Aizawl. Three Police Officers attended this training.

Lecture on Forensic Science

Pu Lalchhanzova, Asst. Director and Pi Ammie Lalnunpuii, JSO(DNA) imparted lectures in the 5 days 2^nd Phase Training Programme of Investigators on 'Women's Safety'  from 21^st to 25^th  March, 2022 conducted by Police Hqrs, Mizoram. 28 Police Officers attended this training.

Pu Rosangzuala, Asst. Director and Pi Ammie Lalnunpuii, JSO(DNA) imparted lectures in 1 day In-Service Training on COLLECTION OF MATERIAL EVIDENCE AND SENDING FOR EXAMINATION BY EXPERTS on 16^th March, 2022 at PHQ Training Hall, Khatla, Aizawl. 18 Police Officers attended this training.

Training & Lecture imparted in the past years

Pi Mary Lalziki, JSO(Q.Doc) imparted lectures at the Training on Financial Management, Sampling and Collection of Standard Documents for Investigating Officers of ACB organised by Vigilance Department at Anti Corruption Bureau Conference Hall on 20^th December, 2021, 20 Officers attended this training.

Pu Lalchhanzova, Asst. Director and Pi Ammie Lalnunpuii, JSO(DNA) imparted lectures in the Training of Investigators on Women's Safety (1^st Phase) from 8^th to 12^th  November, 2021 conducted by Police Hqrs, Mizoram. 24 Police Officers attended this training.

Practical hands-on Training on National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) was conducted on 22^nd October, 2021. Resource person from CFPB/NCRB imparted lectures. Eleven Police Officers, one from each district participated in this training.  

Online Course on Matters relating to Forensic Science for Mizoram Law College students was organized on 28^th August, 2021.

Two MSc Forensic Science students from Rastriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat namely, Miss Richa Sharma and Miss Mabel Chandra undergo one month internship from 1^st February to 19^th March, 2021.

Two MSc (Forensic Science) Final semester students namely, Mr. Joseph Malsawmsanga, University of Delhi, and Mr. LalhruaitluangaTlau, Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh undergo Internship from 1^st to 28^th February, 2021.

2^nd Training Course on Advance Technology in Forensic Science & Scene of Crime Investigation (for ASI to Inspector of Police of North East states) was conducted wef 1^st to 12^th February, 2021 at Conference Hall, Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Mizoram. 23 Police Officers attended this training.

Training for Police Personnel regarding Dead body handling & Transport in connection with suspected COVID-19 was conducted on 8^th & 9^th April, 2020 at Conference Hall, Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Mizoram, Aizawl. Forty(40) Police Officers from Aizawl DEF attended this training.

13 MCS(Proby) 2019 batch were attached to the laboratory on 9^th January, 2020. A brief knowledge on scientific investigation and workings of Forensic Science Laboratory was introduced to the officers.

Advance Technology in Forensic Science & Scene of Crime Investigation for ASI to Inspector of Police of North East states was organised from 2^nd to 6^th December, 2019 at Conference Hall, Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Mizoram, Aizawl. 27 Trainees attended this course.

Miss Zosangkimi, BSc Forensic Science, Mody University, Rajasthan undergo summer training/internship from 24^th June to 12^th July, 2019.

Twelve students of 2nd Semester LLB from Govt. Mizoram Law College were attached to this office during June, 2019. 

Workshop on Sample collection & recent innovation in DNA was held on 14^th & 15^th May, 2019 at Conference Hall, Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Mizoram, Aizawl. The workshop was organised by Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory in collaboration with Thermo Fisher Pvt. Ltd. Eighteen Police Officers attended this workshop.

A Practical Training for Proby Dy.SP was conducted from 24^th September, 2018 to 5^th October, 2018. Two Proby Dy.SPs attended the training to enhance their knowledge in scientific aids of investigation.

Civil Judge Cadre (Grade-III) of Mizoram Judicial Service undergo two days training on  Matters relating to Forensic Science Laboratory from 2^nd  to 3^rd August, 2018. Six trainee officers attend this training.

Mr Henry Vanlalremruata, BSc Forensic Science students from Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh undergo  training from 16^th July to 31^st July, 2018.

Mr Joseph Malsawmsanga and Mr. C.Vanlalruata, BSc Forensic Science students from Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh undergo one month training from 4^th June to 22^nd June, 2018.

Miss C.Zonunsiami, BSc Forensic Science student from Mody University, Rajasthan undergo training from 4^th  to 22^nd June, 2018.

One Day Training on Introduction to DNA Analysis & Collection of DNA Samples for Mamit DEF was conducted on 14th December, 2017. Eight participants along with SP, Mamit undergo this training.

Miss B.Vanlalbiaki, MSc Forensic Science student from Institute of Forensic Science & Criminology, Panjab University, Chandigarh undergo 2 months summer training from 1^st August, 2017 to 30^th September, 2017.

Miss Lalhruaitluangi, MSc Forensic Science student from Institute of Forensic Science & Criminology, Panjab University, Chandigarh undergo summer training from 5^th June, 2017 to 30^th June, 2017.

Training course on Scientific Analysis of Alcoholic Liquor was conducted from 18^th - 20^th January, 2017. Fifteen(15) Excise Officers successfully completed the training.

A Practical Training for Proby Dy.SP was conducted from 6^th June, 2016 to 5^th July, 2016. Eleven Proby Dy.SPs attended the training to enhance their knowledge in scientific aids of investigation

Pu H.Sangchungnunga, Director imparted lecture on the topic, "Combating Crime with DNA Technology" in  Workshop on Medico Legal Cases on 22^nd April, 2019 at Conference Hall, Economics & Statistics, Aizawl organised by Mizoram State Legal Services Authority.

Forensic scientists from Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Mizoram imparted lectures in Three Days Training Course on Scientific Investigation conducted by Police Hqrs, Mizoram from 17th to 19th May, 2017.  24 trainees attended the course.

One Day Training on Crime Scene Preservation for Aizawl City Local Council Office Bearers and Branch YMA Office Bearers was organised by Adminitrative Training Institute, Mizoram on 4th August, 2016. Forensic scientists from Mizoram Forensic Science Laboratory imparted awareness lectures in this training where 78 trainees attended the course. Pu T.Lalropuia, Joint Director, Pu Lalchhanzova, Asst. Director and Pu Rosangzuala, JSO i/c Mobile Forensic presented papers regarding crime scene preservation and duties of citizens in the scene of crimes.

Two Days Training Forensic Science in Crime Scene Investigation for Police & Excise officers was organised by Adminitrative Training Institute, Mizoram on 2nd to 3rd August, 2016. Forensic scientists from Mizoram Forensic Science Laboratory imparted lectures in this training where 55 trainees attended the course.

Pu Lalchhanzova, Asst. Director imparted lecture on the topic, "Application of of Forensic Science in crime scene" at  2nd Phase Programme of Orientation Training for Police Officers in Medico-Legal Cases on 27^th May, 2016 at DIG(Trg) Training Hall, PHQ, Aizawl.

Pu Richard MC Vanlalhnehzova, JSO imparted lecture on the topics, "How to utilize Scientific Equipments/know how in investigation" and "Utilization of Forensic Science in Investigation and Evidentiary value of Scientific Evidences" at a training course on Scientific Investigation of Criminal Cases conducted by SP Aizawl on 26^th May, 2016 at SP Conference Hall, Aizawl.

Pu K.C.Hmingthanga, Fingerprint Expert imparted one Day Training on Theoretical and Practical Fingerprint Science for police officers and men of Serchhip DEF. The training was organised by SP Serchhip on 13^th May, 2016 at SP Conference Hall, Serchhip.

One Day Training on Crime Scene Preservation for Aizawl City Local Council Office Bearers and Branch YMA Office Bearers was organised by Adminitrative Training Institute, Mizoram on 28th April, 2016. Forensic scientists from Mizoram Forensic Science Laboratory imparted awareness lectures in this training where 70 trainees attended the course. Pu T.Lalropuia, Joint Director, Pu Lalchhanzova, Asst. Director and Pu Rosangzuala, JSO i/c Mobile Forensic presented papers regarding crime scene preservation and duties of citizens in the scene of crimes.

Pu T.Lalropuia, Joint Director imparted lecture at Manipur University, Imphal in the  'Short term course on Forensic Chemistry & Toxicology' on 13^th & 14^th January, 2016. The training was jointly organised by Manipur University & UGC.
